The global critical problems need the potential of women and girls leadership serving in all levels of society to transform the crises into real solutions. Ways Women Lead programs provide education and connections for life-long learning. They will lead to individual and collective actions in bringing about positive change, especially in health and sustainable development.
The October 24-27, 2010 world conference in Sofia, Bulgaria will highlight the central role of learning and education in creating leadership for the common good. Ways Women Lead program is committed to help empower women and girls life-long learning, conscious leadership development, and to strengthen the global women's movement. Women, men and youth from around the world are invited to attend.
The mission of Ways Women Lead is to engage and connect as many people as possible in an effective and inexpensive process of education and learning for women and girls. We will implement this process online, locally, and at the three-day international event to be held October 24-27, 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria. We envision an outcome where everyone has the opportunity and capacity to become a conscious leader for the common good, both locally and globally.
One part of the program is a training of 40 Bulgarian women to become facilitators in carrying out a women and girls leadership program throughout Bulgaria. The training of trainers will consist of practical skill development in team building, effective communication, advocacy skills in stopping violence against women, sex trafficking and other forms of corruption, social entrepreneurship and community organizing. This part will run concurrently with the three-day program that is open to all.
The three-day event will provide the opportunity to exchange good practices in health and well being, stopping violence against women, sex trafficking and others forms of exploitation of women and girls, economics and social entrepreneurship, and care for earth. The culture and spirituality of Bulgaria will be integrated throughout the program using the cultural arts, workshops, speakers, networking time, sharing good practices, resources, and staying connected when we return home. All who attend will have the opportunity to become "conscious leaders" for the common good. The event will be live-streamed through Internet and the Bulgarian media so that women, men and youth can participate in this international event from anywhere in the world.
